4611 22nd Ave North East Apt. #4 Jackson, WA 98105 February 26, 2007 Dear Tennessee Mutual Recruiter: I am a business student here at the University of Tennessee and looking for an internship that where I can work hard, be challenged, grow as worker and build relationships at a company that may lead to a future career. The infrastructure operations position interest me. The job would allow me to learn more about corporate finance and gain some skills from working for a successful company like Tennessee Mutual. I can definitely work in an ambiguous environment. When I sold educational books door-to-door for a whole summer, I set all my own hours and kept myself on schedule. I ended up very successful in that internship making $13,000 in profit and won a Top First Year Dealer award. At my current job as director of marketing, my boss gives me tasks and I do them without needing supervision. I multitask and prioritize. I see technology as the future. It is important to learn and make use of the benefits of new technologies. As far as Excel goes, I am very familiar with it from using it at jobs and in classes. I have not used Access before, but I am sure I could pick it up after a 20-minute tutorial. The enclosed resume outlines some of my other skills and qualifications. I have some questions and look forward to scheduling an interview with you. Best regards, Rick Politician UW Business Student - Finance & IS 380-729-6969 treePolitician@hotmail.com
