Cover Letter for Finance
4611 22nd Ave North East Apt. #4 Jackson, WA 98105 February 15, 2007 Byron Forbes Chevron Texaco Dear Byron: My name is Rick Politician and I am a business student here at the University of Tennessee. I am looking for a finance internship that where I can work hard, be challenged, learn which specific finance jobs of interest me and build relationships at a company that may lead to a career. I read your posting in the University of Tennessee E-recruiting internship database and on your website. I also looked around your website at the most current articles on finance involving ChevronTexaco. Your position in ChevronTexaco Finance Development Intern Program strongly interests me. I am currently a junior with a finance concentration, have taken more than the required 9 credits worth of accounting and have a GPA above 3.5. A finance position at Chevron Texaco interests me because of the opportunities to dive into the world of finance within a professional environment. Also, the successful reputation of your corporation attracts me. I believe placing myself in that environment will allow me to attain skills and habits that will make me more successful in the future. Personally, I am a quick-learning, hardworking fellow with excellent people skills and talent for leading. Math is by far my most natural subject and I did all my own books while I was a Southwestern intern. As an intern, I ran my own business selling educational books door-to-door on the East Coast. I sold about $35,000 work of educational material and had to do all my own accounting. Some other skills I picked up were how to self-manage, self-motivate and problem-solve to stay on schedule and hit my goals. Currently, I am working as Director of Marketing at Poulson Leadership Consultants. This position allows me to work on many projects simultaneously, collaborate with different people and manage the marketing staff. Please check out my resume to see some of my other skills and qualifications. I have lots of questions and look forward to scheduling an interview to find out more about the ChevronTexaco Finance Development Intern Program. Sincerely, Rick Politician UW Business Student - Finance & IS 380-729-6969 treePolitician@hotmail.com
