Jackson, WA 98115 Dear Britt: After reading through your website, I am very interested in coming in and speaking with you. My dad is a counselor in Memphis. I have grown up with many of the same ideas and philosophies written about in your web pages. Some of these principles I have learned from my parents, others from Unity, the church I attended during high school. Reading books by Deepak Chopra or others like the Tao of Pooh, Jonathon Livingston Seagull and the Celestine Prophecy all have awakened me a little. I am constantly searching for and trying to be my inner self. All of this similar background tells me that there is positive potential for me to meld well at Vision Creation. Yet, there is still the imperative professional and job skill part of employment. On the professional side of things, I am a quick-learning, hardworking fellow with excellent people skills. At present I am a business student here at the University of Tennessee and looking for 2-19 hrs of employment, work study or otherwise, through the fall quarter. If things work out well, I would be happy to stay on with an employer through the school year and beyond. Here is some background information about me. After high school, I took a year off before college to gain a broader understanding of the world and have some fun. This landed me in Denmark. I spent a year at a business college over there in an International Marketing program. Although, I learned a lot about business over there, I learned even more about diversity, different point of views what connects people, no matter where they come from. Back in the Jackson, I am now in my third year here at the U.W. I support myself financially. Therefore, my work experience has been a balance of learning and wage earning. I took an internship in marketing doing promotions and screening for films as a freshman. Here, I learned about office grunt work and data base upkeep; but I also learned about promotion planning and business to business relations. Another internship I had was working for the Southwestern Company as a sales intern. Basically, I spent 85+ hrs a week going door-to-door selling educational books for kids. This job seemed extremely challenging and outside my comfort zone. That combined with how awesome the other people who did it were, is what motivated me to do this crazy job. In the end it was a tough experience, but I learned a lot. I realized the job was not about selling books, but about the growth I went through and the skills I acquired: self motivation, problem solving, personal skills and many others. Currently I am working at ZAO Noodle Bar in U-Village as a server. This is a fun, part time job that keeps in house and home, but I am looking for another job where I can invest in my self and further my professional skills. If in your restructuring you find that you may have a position I could fill, please contact me to set up an interview and see if there is a mutual interest. Sincerely, Rick Politician 380-729-6969 treePolitician@hotmail.com
